Hey look what I did!
So I was hoping to get a lot of work done this winter on the bike, but after a total carb death i decided to do some work on the rest. So the plan was... Figure out my carb Issue...Maybe Pods?....Bondo broken yamaha plaques....new tires, levers, seal oil leaks, many little things. oh, and recover and reform my seat.
So..I took the carbs off and started probing around. Aparently after a seafoam treatment i loosened some rust from my drain screws and clogged up some of the small holes. Fixed
Next came reasemble, which sucks, you all have more determination then I do because i decided to rip out the airbox and follow AMCwood's pvc intake genious. TaDa, Check out the pic, And it works great. I know two pods may be frowned upon but consider i do most of my riding at 8,000ft so I would naturaly be lean.
On to the paint, ya its rattle can. It kinda looks home made, but not to bad. Besides its just a reminder I did it myself, and I can call it a rat bike. btw go steelers, huh.
So here she is, let me know what you think, I know its not much of a mod but its a start. and special thanks to chacal and AMCwood of course

Somebody is a stillers fan....you need to change your signature now that is runs again.
I only got to ride it once, but honestly that air intake seems to work pretty darn well...hard to tell though if its the intake or the fact that you no longer leak air like a screen door.

In case anyone was curious. yep two big filters is to much air, just colortuned and couldnt get it goin. I plugged up one and intend on routing the other back a bit. should look pretty cool.
Just an addition, the new setup is easy to remove and gives me space to put tools and rain pants under the seat. Yes, I know, this was not a power upgrade, just looks and conveniance.
Also, just for laughs you should know that 3 days after completing everything i was interested in doing on my bike, including grips, levers, clean-lube cables my roomate decided to play dominoes with our bikes. My tach cable broke and my brake lever looks like its trying to itch its back. fml
