    Here's my problem:

    I've got no spark to 2 & 3

    Here's what I've tested:

Compression all 4 holes between 150 and 155.
Ohm pick up coils values good
Ohm both sides of both coils also good
swap coils coil from 2&3 fires holes 1&4
New plugs, swap plugs same problem
All the Wires from the coils to the TCI check out good.
    Battery fully charged and good.

I swapped in a TCI I have in my parts box, condition unknown, and had the same problem. Possibly two bad TCI's?

I think I have a another spare in a different parts box. I'm going to try that tomorrow.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'll gladly get pictures or test anything that's suggested. I've got plenty of time but seriously lacking funds. I'd like to just ride this thing again.

youi've swapped coils. and tci boxes. only thing left is pickup coils. that's what provides the off/on switch. like cars had points back in the old days.

youi should have voltage at the coil and it should fluctuate. indicating turning itself off and on.

If you take out #2 or 3 plug, rest it against the block, turn the key on, in 3-5 seconds you should get one spark on that plug. IF you DO then it's your pickup coils, if you don't then suspect TCI.

You can try this on 1 and 4 as well to see it working.

What happens, is when you turn on the key the c oils get 12V, then the TCI goes into a low power mode and cuts the 12V off from the coils, thus collapsing the coil fields, and it has to discharge through the spark plug.

So if no sparky with this test, it's the TCI, if you do get spark, the TCI is working properly, and it's not getting the pickup coil signals.

EDIT: It could be the input side of the TCI is bad on one wire. You can swap the wires from the pickup coils and see if the problem follows the switch. Make sure you swap the spark wires as well to keep the spark where it should be. (1&4 goto 2&3)

thanks. I didn't know about that test. I will try it tonight with each of the TCI boxes I have in my parts boxes. They came with the bike so I have no idea of their condition.

Update. Fixed! Bad TCI. Actually a pair of them. Same symptoms from two TCI's. The third one I had in my other parts box worked. I'll be sending my old one off to Robert on payday to have it refreshed.
