Good Reason for motor not to start

    So, I decide it's time to at least see if I can get her running in order to make up my mind if I want to restore her or not. I buy plugs, LOTS of carb cleaner, a couple cheap aluminum muffin pans (That was a GREAT idea in that one post), and decide to get cracking. I put the plugs in, and just out of curiousity try to fire her. WAY different sound than before, she's trying...she really wants to be started!

    I take the carbs out. They are some NASTY critters inside and out...

    Well, I follow the instructions that I find here and on the net and get the carbs apart. I find a REALLY good reason that shows just how long this bike is sitting>>>

    I was stoked...she tried to start, I'm getting the carbs clean, she'll be starting in no time. Cleaning parts...man those float needles are tiny...and DIRTY...need more rubbing...SNAP. Broke the tip off the stupid thing.

    So, now I find myself waiting for 4 carb rebuild kits with new float needles. MAYBE I can get her firing up by this weekend. That would be a REAL shot in the pants to really get to working and get her road worthy by spring.

    yup, thats the reason it wont run. they are very bad much worse than the carbs that came on mine, and i found mine sitting for 3 years.

    Ugh. Mud daubers. Bastards really mess up stuff.

    Make sure you look down the intake bores in the motor, make sure there's no mud nests in there.

    That'll wreck a motor, if it eats one of those once running.
