I have been researching and collecting the necessary parts to do a full clutch plate replacement for 3 or 4 months.
It turns out that the ONLY thing wrong with the clutch was someone did a full replacement of plates but left the ORIGINAL springs on.

Everything in the pics is what was pulled out today. All it needed was stiffer springs.

(before tonight it slipped above 6 G. now its fine and fast)

I'm about to do mine as well. Have new plates and springs ready. The biggest issue I see other than having to hunt for neutral sometimes is that I have to double-clutch quite often when downshifting. Did you have that issue at all? Trying to figure out what I'm walking into here before I start, lol! Thanks for the post and pics, very helpful!

Hey Bill, if you'd read it real carefully you could have done it with the bike on the sidestand and you wouldn't have lost any oil.

    (Just sayin')

But it looks like you're absolutely right about the "guts." The 'pack' itself looks to be nearly brand new. Somebody went cheap. Good catch.

gday billb, when you say the clutch was slipping was it really obvious?its just that on my bike when i decide to really give it abit say upto 10 and half thou the power feels like it comes on in little waves say from 6 up,as an example say 6 - 8 1/2rpm then 9 thru to 10 1/2 rpm, its like a couple of little powerbands. it doesnt feel like its slipping to me as the revs dont rapidly rise although i should say it revs very hard and fast over 6000.i guess my question is should it be an even non stop acceleration from say 6000 to 11000rpm?sorry if i havent made myself seem to clear.
