Anyone have a good thread on this topic ? To test stator.....how to clean up that round copper disc....scotch brite or 1500 grit sandpiper, or crocus cloth or leave it alone.....???

Do I have to take off that nut to get the stator out ??

Brushes look fine....easy to replace but I don't have too....

    Thanks in Advance...

Howdy, I can tell you this there ain't much to it, check to see if you're seal is working; if you have a leak you need to take off the rotor with a special bolt, then remove 3 torx screws from the seal retainer plate and drive the old seal out. there should be at least 10MM of brush sticking up from the brush holder. I don't know if my case is typical but the brush holder screws are so tight I could not get them off. If you need to change your brushes, you'll need to find a way to clamp the cover down to get the screws out. The last thing to check is continuity and resistance of the rotor and the electrical integrity of the stator.
