air jets with no cover

    Im doing a carb rebuild and i took the top plate off and diaphragm out and saw the 2 air jets. Looking at the Haynes manual it shows a cover plate over the two jets mine does'not have that plate. Do i need the plates ? I know back in 1982 my 650 had the plates.

    cover is no longer used even though the screw hole is still there yamaha did away with it


    make sure you put the jets back in the correct place haynes manual is incoerrect
