Hi all, Wonderful forum here, and a lot of knowledgeable folks on it.

I recently picked up an 82 xj750 (Maxim i think, from what ive read). Anways, The wiring has been hacked by previous owners, and I have it maybe 95% sorted out. Im good with a multimeter and soldering iron so its not a big deal. My question is, recently my computer monitor thing in the cluster has been blank sometimes, and then for maybe 2 days would be fine and work properly. Now I am unable to get it to work at all. I have checked connections, completely taken the cluster apart, etc. Before I deem it completely "bad", is there any way i can directly connect it to 12v power to power it up? If so which wire would that be on it? It has a 9 pin plug and 6 pin plug. Thanks in advance for any help!

Edit: I downloaded a wiring diagram, but each switch/fuse/light/sensor, etc that the wiring goes to is just numbered and not labeled and I have no key. Plus it is blurry and hard to read above all else.

Besides the wiring, the screen can go blank because of the polarized film seperating from the display. If you have a set of polarized sunglasses, use them to have a look at the display when powered up.

    This might help

I was having the same problem with my display as well. Got my polarized sunglasses and low and behold, I can see the display perfectly. Thanks!
