I have recently acquired a 1984 xj750 rl seca, canada/aus only and from what I've read, a 750 on a xj900 framework. currently, the bike is mostly stripped down and awaiting some cuts. because of parts availability, it will most likely be named the yami davidson when completed.

I'm also looking to swap the bars but im uncertain which upper tree to order. this bike came with the cast 2 piece bars with teeth and dowel locking it down. any input is appreciated.

here's a couple pictures, I'll try to take more photos of the progress along the way.

    I think I like it!
    Looks clean and straight.

I can't recall if the bar index on yours is cast into the triple or not. Check the underside of the top tree and look for a bolt sticking out from under the index ring. If there is a bolt then you can simply replace it with the bar clamps from an earlier Seca 700 or 750.

I believe its cast into the triple. because this is built on the 900 frame, do I need an upper tree from a 900 or will some 750 or lower fit?
