Looking at my brake lines on my 1983 XJ750 and while I can't seem to find a date code however I can find that they are made by Toyoda. So did Toyota make the stock lines for these bikes or are these likely replacements? I am planning on replacing them with stainless steel lines from Chacal but just curious when I saw the toyoda label on them. I did a search and couldn't seem to find any reference to toyoda or toyota lines so I hope i'm not beating a dead horse here

Toyoda (Toyota corp) very likely did manufacture those brake lines for Yamaha. Post WWII Japan required all manufacturers to purchase parts from other japanese manufacturers in order to speed up the re-industriaiazition process, and improve the overall robustness of the Japanese economy (sort of a "National Monopoly"). The system persists to this day, which is why you can open the hood on a Honda Civic, and find a cam angle sensor that was made by Mitsubishi.
