Central New York Carb Clinic date is announced!!

Hi everyone, the much-anticipated date for the 8th annual Central New York Carb Clinic is set for:

Start letting me know who plans to return, attend, teach/ demonstrate/etc....., its also perfectly fine to drive in and carry a part needing work, as well as just come watch and learn.

Got anywhere I can pitch a tent? Are you serving "Adult" beverages? Should I bring mine own? Any rib joints in the area? Inquiring minds want to know.

 

there is room for pitching a tent, several others have done that in the past. I do not serve adult beverages here, and I prefer no one bring any here, either. (if you happen to have something for yourself in your tent before you retire for the night, I'm not gonna tell you you can't have a nightcap, though.........LOL) Not to be mean, or prudish-----it's to be SAFE. I want people to arrive alive and sober, and be able to work safe and sober, ride in the afternoon safe and sober, and ride home safe and sober. That's it, plain and simple.

The general outline for the day goes like this:

I'm up at dawn to put up the signs and put the coffee on. First person to arrive is usually BluesBass, and we shoot the breeze and drink the first pot or two of coffee. By 7am, the third pot of coffee is ready and finish setting up tools. Often there is a cold bike ready for valve shim checks so we get started. Work through the morning as people arrive, break for lunch around noon-ish. After lunch, back to work til mid-afternoon---finish things up, go for a nice ride on all our freshly tuned xj's (or sit under the canopy and grumble at the rain, as we've had to do, too.....), then return to pack up, say good-byes to the following year (or crawl into the tents and leave sunday morning)

There are hotels in the area, not much in the way of food joints here, but there are plenty along the way....

As people are contacting me, I do ask if you can give a list of things you either need done, or a list of things you can do to help someone else do, a topic that you can talk about, etc...... That allows me to coordinate who needs help with what, etc...... for a very efficient day.

I"m just starting to get my email lists together, so for anyone who is interested in attending, give me your email address and I"ll build the list.

Thanks Dave. I was going to ask what all goes on. You answered all my questions.

 

I wish I were closer than 5 days away. I would love to come lend a hand and hang out. it's only 2,794 miles. I would need a valve adjustment by the time I got there. then one when I got back.

Now it sounds like i should make the 11 hr trip

 

I need to see if my truck will make it that far and back. The other night I woke up at 3:30and the headlights were on. No tail lights. And the switch was off. Had to disconnect the battery.

 

The central New York carb clinic is now only a little over a month away. There are many people who indicated interest in coming, if you are planning to come please start a conversation with me to make sure that I have your email address so that I can start sending information to you.

I would also like to know what topic you can lead a discussion on, or show somebody, or assist somebody, etc.…

If you need work done, let me know, and whether you'll bring your parts with you or whether you need them shipped here in advance. Len Chacal has been gracious enough to offer to do that, so you don't have to worry about forgetting something… They will be sitting here waiting for you!
