Fuel line question

    image.jpeg image.jpeg there two line coming off the petcock, one feeds fuel to the carb, where does the second one go? Is it just a vent?

    The smaller line coming of of the petcock must be hooked to a vacuum source, which is generaly the vacuum port on the #3 carb intake boot.

    Thank you, that made all the difference, that explains why the bike wouldn't run right when set to on or reserve.

    It looks to me like it is on a short length of vacuum hose that is attached to the vacuum port.

    Might be a one-way check valve (something aftermarket) that someone installed in a previous life.....

    If it actually is a 1-way check valve, no real harm in leaving it on (although the petcock already has a rudimentary version of the same thing internally); if it's not, then who knows? I think it would be best to ditch it, see if everything works okay, and if so, ride and be happy without it.
