so after melting the float pin tower trying to repair it, it left me with 2 options ( 3 but thats a new bike and i wanna avoid it now that i gotthe problem honed in) wither manufacture a new piece and pin it, or replace the body, but! this is where im confused. ive seen a few diagrams that look like the individual carbs come apart? is this possible/true? or do i gotta look for the whole quad bar?

XJ650 Maxim, Midnight Maxim, XJ650RJ Seca (non-turbo), XJ650 Euro all use HSC32 carbs (various versions)
XJ750 all USA 1981-83 models use HSC32 version 5G200 (Seca) and 15R00 (Maxim and Midnight Maxim)
XJ750 all Canadian 1981-83 models use HSC32 version 5H200 (Seca) and 15T00 (Maxim and Midnight Maxim)
    XJ750 UK/Europe 11M models, XJ750 Police models 24L and 37H use HSC32 version 5N100

XJ750 all USA 1981-83 models use HSC32 version 5G200 (Seca) - i believe this is the model ( i dont know how to tell them apart tbh, if anyone knows how ill be alot more specific :) )

The carbs are held together by mounting brackets. They come apart from the rack for servicing. You'll only need to replace the one, but make not of which one it is. #1 and #4 are unique, #2 and #3 are interchangeable with each other.
You can use carb bodies (HSC32) from any '81-'83 XJ650 or XJ750, though the 650 bodies will need the jets and needle from your carb.

That's what aluminum does without having proper heat control. That job calles for TIG, not Torch.

You can try this: http://www.yamaha-triples.org/workshop/Mikuni_MKII_Post_Repair.pdf but you'll probalby have to make a through hole to have enough threads for the bolt to grab. Shouldn't be a problem if you use a sealant. Otherwise get a replacement carb body.

He hasn't got enough of a stub left to make a dovetail. Yours was the first repair I thought of @Polock.

Not sure if this will help, of even if it will work because I haven't fired mine up yet, but here is my pillar fix. I manufactured a new pillar and plate from 20x20 aluminium extrusion. I use the float seat bolt as the retaining mechanism and dropped the alu washer. Here are a couple of pics. The final design has a bend at the top to help with the limiter tab, not a hook like you see in the photos.

Nicely done. I like how you used the other float pillar as a register to maintain a parallel assembly.
