    Hi

I,ve rebuilt my bike during the winter to a caferacer, an i,ve driven it a couple of times. I have a 4-1 system with a slipon muffler with not so much in it , stock carburators and individual airfilters for each carburator. My question is if anyone have som idea of what jetting i should have ?

Somebody says that i only should go upp with the mains and shim the needles but how much ?, where on a tour yesterday and i couldnt get it any faster than 75 mph on fifth gear and full throttle.

I live at sealevel and hav about 20-25 degress Celsius in the summer

You've got yourself some reading to do. Unfortunately there is not a quick "do this" answer. I had a bike without the stock air box and after trying to play with it, I bought a used stock airbox to go back to the stock settings. However some people have been able to get pod filters to work. Most likely you're gonna have to try 1 jet size, see if it works, then try another, and repeat until you find the results you want.

Also, as others will point out, make sure your valves are in spec, as well as making sure you're carbs are minty fresh.

Look forward to seeing what you can do. Post some photos too!

    Hi Jan-Olof
    Have you adjusted valves yet?
Taken note of jets in the bike now?
Have you done the throttle shaft seals?
    Then get back to us.
With the dreaded pods removing carbs is quick.
Then if you insist on using pods order a bunch of jets from Len@xj4ever

    for rejetting instructions are here
    The Information Overload Hour

+4 sizes main jet for the 4 to 1
+4 sizes main jet for pods
then Subtract: -2 main fuel jet size

Increase the pilot fuel jet size +1 for every +3 main fuel jet size increases.
    which gets you to
    A GOOD STARTING POINT.
