Looking for some sintered/full metallic pads for my '82 650 Seca. It seems that the EBC FA34 isn't available in the -HH designation; only the standard (organic/Kevlar) or -V (semi-sintered) variations. I see that Bikemaster has some, has anyone found any suitable units from another brake-specific company- like Duro, Braking, DP, etc?

    Thanks!

May have just found my answer...looks like the DP401 from DP brakes is a full sintered pad. Anyone used them?

I used them on my wife's Honda and found them to be too abrasive and noisy. Went back to normal pads. My understanding is that they were developed for racing and very aggressive riding, both of which I never do. They can be pretty hard on the rotors also.

    What website?

I am not racing, however I do want an aggressive feel for the brakes. Since rear drums are merely for decoration and trying to get real performance out of them is hopeless, I rely heavily on my fronts. Being dual disks, they should be pretty strong. I do need to invest in some new lines and I know that will help a great deal, but the pad material is important to me too. I feel the organic/ceramic compounds are too prone to glazing. The rotors are darn near 1/4" thick...I could use a grinding wheel as a brake pad and it would still take hundreds of miles to wear through them. I ride dirtbikes in the mud with 1/8" thick rotors, full metallic pads, and still have the factory rotors on bikes that are 24 years old- the rotors will be just fine.

When I had the front wheel off for cleaning and fresh rubber, I took a scotch brite wheel on my air whizzer and cleaned them up real well, but I still get the feeling that the pads just glazed right up anyway. How long do they take to break in? I have about 100 miles on them.
