I am about to start chopping my yamaha xj700 maxim. My plans are to lower it (maybe struts), cut the fender off, new seat and bars, and make it sound loud. Any thoughts or suggestions. I don't really know where to start.

Yes, start a new thread for your bike, and find a different bike to make loud and chop. A stock XJ is a beautiful thing.

Looks nice man! Did you move the controls forward yourself? I've been wanting to do that to mine but not quite sure how I'm going to pull it off yet. Need more pics! :D
