Thought this would be a fun topic..

I don't have too much to add as far as today goes, but I am planning on scuffing and repainting my tank semi-gloss black.

Today? I rode it home from a friends house where it started to downpour last night and he gave me a ride home. Also yesterday, I washed my tank with gas at the BP station. I am a moron.

Unpacked my saddlebags from the trip that I took though Sequoia National park and Yosemite National park. Only used two freeways and they were both less than 25 miles. Only went on the same road twice, They were not thru streets. First one was Kings Canyon, the second was Glacier Point. Wish I would have kept the mileage but the Canadian speedo that I spent a small fortune on would have kept working. Now I need to clean the bike and change the oil, AHH next weekend. The Seca Turbo is actually a nice sport-tourer

I finished-up the sculpting I needed to do to make my former Midnight Maxim's seat comfortable, good looking and no sliding forward, now.

That and I cleaned and de-greased the whole bike getting ready to do the pimping-out it get's for the annual death-defying ride to Loudin, NH for Bike Week.

Well yesterday I rode my baby for around 8-9 hours over 700+kms (including stops, actual time on the bike was about 7 1/2 hours)

Great day for a ride too.. considering it's winter here :p

Pulled plugs. Looked good. I've got a stripped screw on one of my turn signal covers, so I pulled the assembly off the head lamp mounts....Started thinking about getting rid of my bendy stays wrapped in black tape....Still thinking.

yesterday and today, 82 xl650 Maxim, got my 8,000 mile 600 dollar project machine running sweet. Bought as DOA, no spark, electrical harness been hacked on, carbs had been hacked with, but bike looks sweet.
With help from this board, replaced ignitor box, and both coils that I got locally from a lady that has 3 parts bikes , 60 dollars for all! PLus a little relay under the ignitor box that was missing 10 dollars, now the high beam works! Took the carbs off (by far the easiest carb removal I've ever done) noticed that somebody cleaned red varnish out of them not long ago, cleaned them again, took them all apart, mixture circuits where leaking gas into #2 so bad it dripped gas out of the collector pipe, put those back on, read for 2 hours on various sites whether or not I should make a YICS tool 8O for mixture and vac settings, decided not to after thinking more about it. Set them, then drove it down the road! It was high 40's with wind chill in Ypsilanti Mich yesterday do didn't go far, but far enough to see it runs gooood! Taking it out today to cruise on. Oh, changing the oil now.
Going to detail it again. My 6 hondas will be irately jelous at this point!!
