Winter is coming (Game of Thrones fans this was an intended reference) and thus riding is becoming increasingly 'brisk and refreshing' (read: cold). I ride year-round, weather permitting, and am looking for some universal or bolt-on lower fairings or leg guards that will deflect the wind around my legs (and my girlfriends' legs as my passenger). I have the engine guards on both my XJ650 and XJ1100 as well as a windshield. We both wear leather jackets. I have heated gloves (and am thinking about getting her a set this year for Christmas).

I just need something to deflect the frigid air from around our legs. I have done some searching on Google and the forums and nothing seems to come up that will realistically work for these bikes. If anyone has seen anything that bolts on to the engine guards or is designed specifically for these bikes without requiring a fairing please enlighten me!

Yes, yes - all the CD175s in the 70s had these fitted - fantastically sensible. Along with 'Derri boots'

I have one of the frame-mounted Yamaha fairings with the legs. We had a relatively mild winter 5 years ago and I had to only drive to work 5 or 6 times.
Some of the CO's tried riding their H-D's and found it too cold.
Between the fairing and the four wide cylinders I worry more about black ice than temperature. IMG_20150823_084125.jpg
One of these days I'm going to figure out how to mount it on one of the 900's.
On the other hand, it's a pita to get off, when wanting to IMG_20150823_085946.jpg work on the machine
