I'm going to recreate this chase on the way home... just got to install that turbo-booster.

Good lock finding the Renault, too. That was one fast car. I believe it was made to homologate their car for World Rally Championship. Also, how did anybody other than Connery ever become Bond? SO BAD -ASS!

You mean the radar stealth faring. That stuff is indestructible even after sliding under that truck.

I wonder how many bikes they went through. :)

    Don't know what that really is... It's not a 650 turbo, if that's what you're thinking. ......

He needs to rebuild his fuse box. Head and taillights were not functioning . . . .

IIRC, he didn't want to do it any more. He'd quit once before he finally walked away from the role for good. Of course, he went from this:

ah-Ha! I was right! I had paused the screen when the bike was turning around inside the truck, and I could see the chain-drive and the sprocket on the rear. I just read the craigslist write-up about the 650 turbos from the movies, and the guy explained what stunt double bike was used for that........

Can that noise possibly be the sound from that bike? Not owning one, I couldn't say...

A lot of countries don't have them hard wired, that's a dressed up off road bike in the chase scenes

The Bond bike in Never Say Never Again was a 650 turbo that had been made over cosmetically for the movie (excepting for the stunt bike as Hogfiddles pointed out). I remember reading about it in an article in Cycle Magazine when the movie came out.

Oh, the Renault doesn't sound like it should sound either. Movie vehicles sound the way the director wants them to sound.

Ummmm..... Gran Torinos were fast (for the time). Even the S&H car had a 351 Windsor. The 429 Cobra Jet engined Gran Torinos were real fun down the dragstrip.

My '73 is the Q-code 351-4v cleveland.... Currently has a 429 that a PO put in it, but i found an earlier 351-4v Cleveland with 4-bolt mains to it back in it as I re-do it.

    First one I ever had was a '76 w/ a 351w-2v smog engine.

Yeah Dave, I was careful to say LATE 70s. Once emission regs came in, 400 cubic inch v8s were struggling to make 200 hp. I used to drive a 72 Chevelle SS with the 454, so I know there was power. I'm talkin about after OPEC strangled the crap out of 'em. I have DESTROYED late 70s Camaros and Stinkrays in my 98 Civic. It had a few sneaky tricks up its sleeve, but was still only 1.8 liters.
Also, watch some old footage of the S&H Torino cornering. The body roll as they flog that beast is incredible! Certainly no General Lee!
I figured I was gonna get a response from that post... sorry if I hurt any car's feelings!
