Help I want to upgrade my rims

    I really want to put a springer front end on my 83 xj750 make it a bobber my problem is the springer is a 3/4 axle what could I do to make both rims the same with the back being a shaft I'm lost I have Harleys this bike was my younger brothers it sat for 7 years unfortunately my younger brother is no longer with us any help would be great thanks

    if you want to keep oem rims
    you find the bearings that will fit the axle and ask a machine shop if they can make the rim fit the bearing.
    you will also have to make sure that the tubes on the forks will fit the triple tree.

    do you know the diameter of current axle? you could also see if collars could be made for the axle, to make it fit the springer axle holes. if current axle is smaller.

    another thought is with most bearings being made off shore it could be that all bearings are metric to start with as well as your 3/4 ' axle 3/4 = 19.050 mm

    .05.mm = .00016 inch should be with in any mfg +- spec for bearings, just need to find outer dia of bearing matching rim with inner dia that matches axle

    I don't care if the rims are oem or aftermarket just want them to match is there anything that I could just plug and play or just do machine work to the front

    I seen a post that xv700 rims work can't find the spoke ones but I'll settle for what I can do the easiest way thanks

    I'm cutting the neck off. And welding in a new one on to put the springer front end on my thing is I don't know what rear to put on so it could match the front for the springer

    One more thing I believe the xj axle up front is bigger then the springer axle

    just have a machine shop get the bearings you will need for the rims you want to install
