i ran into an issue with the 4-1 header snapping the exhaust bolts on cylinder 1. I thought maybe because of the 1100 being in a 750 frame the torque is snapping them off so I switched to a 2-1 header and still having the same issue. I'm afraid to drill out the bolts risking putting a hole in the head. Any ideas what I can do to stop the exhaust leak in cylinder 1?

you can use alum mixed with water make a bowl it will dissolve the steel not the aluminium . there is a video about it.
what torque spec are you using to tighten the nuts to ?

Disolve it as mentioned above, or take it to a reputable machine shop.

Loosen the entire exhaust system. When you tighten it all back up, start at the headers (once the studs are repaired). The only way to eliminate the exhaust leak is to replace the broken studs.
What is this about an 1100 engine in a 750 frame? What engine is the exhaust meant to be for?

Did the exhaust come off of an 1100 maybe? That would cause things to not line up correctly and could snap off the exhaust studs.

Once the pipe is in the head, it pretty much can't move side to side. The only thing left to snap the studs is moving out away from the head and there is nothing doing that unless the mount under the engine is on a big time bind.

First I bought it with the motor in it. I did not research any part numbers to see if what the guy I bought it from was correct when he said it was a 1100. The original exhaust that I had a problem with was 4-1 single pipe off the left side. The pipes I now have on it are 2-1.

the short vin on motor can help ID motor, plus between cylinders 2&3 near exhaust ports will have size of motor
