Header pipes would swap or not?

    Hogfiddles wrote a nice an useful thread about fuel tank interchangeability.

    Now I have a question about header pipes interchangeability between the XJ900RL and the XJ750RL, would it be a direct swap or not? What about the collector box?

    The collector boxes will interchange. They mount at the same point. The front pipes probably won't due to the 750 exhaust ports are not as high as the 900. So, the pipes are a bit shorter.

    Yep. 60.5 mm for the 900, 56.4 mm for the 750.

    The cylinders aren't as tall… So the head is not as high… So The exhaust ports are not as high
