The 2018 Vintage Yamaha Rally will be held Sept 28 through Oct 1. If you own, wrench, and ride a Yamaha, 25 or more years old, please try to make this event. The entire resort is reserved for us until early January, so now is the time to make a plan. They have a 60 day cancellation policy, so no worries if plans change before that time. www.ironhorsenc.com

I just put up a new website. Vintage Yamaha Rally Please watch for updates.

OK, it's early, but it's time to make a reservation for September. My minions and I are working diligently to get the whole place booked by January. So, do it. Make a plan! Deposit is not due until 28 July.

Here is the Iron Horse cancellation policy:

Trying to make it happen. Convince my wife it's the last big trip I will take before I'm too old for long jaunts.
Haven't ridden that far in a long time so I want to limit daily mileage. Hoping to keep it around 400 miles a day.
And will try to visit as many fellow xjer's as I can and camp out at there place:)
There is also an other plan. Ride my Xj750rl up to NY after the rally and sell my bike to Dave and meet my wife in NY city for a holiday and do a cruise to Montreal and fly home.

I'm hoping it is. But I'm going to allow a few extra days for the unexpected and side trips to do the tourist things.

I5 to Seattle then the 90 to Souix falls then southbound the 29 Kansas City then the 70 to St Louis then 64 and 24 to Nashville then 29 and dragons tail

We had a pristine one of those at the rally last year. No excuse. It's its own truck. Bring it!

Unfortunately, I can't find a picture of it.

I suffer from Robert Burns syndrome. No matter how well I plan a road trip, something "goes awry" and I rarely get started.

This is on my radar and I'll make the attempt but I ain't holding my breath!

Even if you are attending, September is a long way off. I wouldn't hold my breath either!

I have to ask this question. Do you like to camp? If you wait to reserve a bed at the Iron Horse, camping will be one option. Staying five or more miles away will be the other. The entire resort is reserved for our event until 15 March. After that, anyone may take the space. I'd like all others to be crowded out by Vintage Yamaha. Most of it is already reserved.

We get several every year from Ohio, Michigan, Ontario, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and other points north. We also get riders from as far west as California. We are pushing it harder than ever this year.

This one requires advance planning, unless you're good with sleeping on the ground. Many attendees do just that, and we encourage it.

We have partnered this event with the VJMC.

For those of you planning to attend this rally, it really doesn't mean anything except that the rally will probably be even better and likely we'll have a bike show for those of you who want to show off your work.

Our goal is to have the resort sold out by 15 March, so don't delay making your reservation. There should be plenty of tent space for last minute fence sitters.
