As more time goes by the RJ gets prettier.
    Let's see what it fetches.

    well your a rip

The oil cooler was added by Armand who purchased it NOS new, it looks and is factory correct.

well then it's not.... A Classic & Original 100% Stock Survivor ... is it

A PORTION OF THE PROCEEDS WILL GO TO FUND THE NEW ENGLAND MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM

those were my thoughts also, master mechanics don't need 3 attempts to fix carbs LOL.

Yup, carbs jumped off the page... and no title.

    Still, looks nice... $2K max?
If you look close the headers are pitting, although they look good....

Now that IS museum quality, the mileage (86) and the price proves it. $13,200 with multiple bidders for an 1981 CBX, that would be top dollar for one of those. I think its blasphemous not riding that all these years. It definitely needs to have its legs stretched and the cob webs blown out. I volunteer...

    "Find one with less miles......"
    Ok:). I can do that

Notice bent turn signal mounts, scratches on the tank, scored rotors........

Exactly what I thought as well. Taking three times, just means you did it wrong two times before.

Heck, my first go around with carbs it only took me two times... and believe me, I'm NO master mechanic!

Dave, how many times does it take you?

Also, I'm curious if one of those lucky anonymous bidders is one of us here on the forum... hmmm....

The whole "NO TITLE" thing bothers me. Could anyone with CT/NY DMV experience speak to this?

Can someone walk into a NYS DMV with a "A CT DMV Q1 SUPPLEMENTAL ASSIGNMENT OF OWNERSHIP/BILL OF SALE" as the listing states... And register it?

Says it has a registration and notarized bill of sale. Register it in CT by jumping through their hoops..... then once it's registered in your name, then go to nyDMV after a year

It was at $2300 an hour ago. If you look at the bidding activity during the last few minutes of the auction, it shows that somene really wanted that bike. Screenshot_2018-02-10-17-27-11.png

We might have a new member potentially.
We could possibly find out how good Armand really did on those carbs. Or not.

Also interesting is that those who bid early were not the ones at the end... "Hey Joe, can you bid on my bike??? Yeah, I have it out on eBay right now... There's not a lot of interest yet...and I want to create some demand."

Also the winning bidder only bid once... minutes before the end of auction.

    Probably Jay Leno.

There are tools that go in for you at the last few seconds. They developed because early in eBay's history, lazy people learned who the experts were and outbid them, requiring no actual knowledge, just deep pockets. Auction Sniper is one; keeps you anonymous until it's too late for the competition to know you were bidding.

Very interesting. I makes sense that there is an app for that. What doesn't have an app these days.

i use https://www.gixen.com/index.php it's nice because when they end at midnight left coast time, it's past my bedtime. and regular auto bids just attract attention

Got the eBay alert because I viewed that turn signal at some point...
They are never going to raise the money if they keep discounting their parts like this...
    save_now.jpg

On the other hand, who doesn't want to save $1,475.01 ?

I mean... it is for a limited time.

    Do Tell!!!

The funny thing is that the end of the first auction was what finally motivated me to pull the trigger on a different RJ. They don't come around too often...

I’d be completely stoked to have a xj650rj. I am positive of that, but I am saving my pennies for a 900 first. Just so long as Dave doesn’t hear of it before I would.

When you're ready to pull the trigger, let me know. I have one sitting in the garage. It starts (well, until I took the carbs off) and needs to be thoroughly gone over before being road ready.

    I got a reply.......

'It can go on either side.....its universal"
So I asked him......"oh, so then it must be a new aftermarket one?"

So I asked him to let me know the wire colors so that I could determine the correct side.
