My OCD side is completely calmed and soothed by those pictures. That sure looks nice. Wouldn't mind dipping in there and stealing a few e-clips and top cover screws.

Wonderful pictures. Thank you so much. Where's the throttle shaft? Sorry to sound difficult but I started riding 7 months ago and I barely have a clue what I am doing.

I though I detected a hint of lavender when I received my new brake lines.

Google for the Yamaha parts diagrams. They show an exploded view with all the parts numbered and labeled. A Haynes or Clymer tear down manual is helpful too. You can usual find a PDF version in the web or buy one off eBay or Abebooks.

Thank you for your input. I'm going to take your advice and buy the necessary equipment to do steps 5 and 6. Quick question, of the three which do you adjust first: idle knob, mixture screw, or synch screws?

Set mixture screws to 2 1/2 turns out from just barely bottomed out.

Get bike to start and adjust idle 1100.

Adjust sync screws until balanced . ***Valves must be checked and adjusted or this step is a waste of time.

Note you will have to adjust idle again and again as bike will idle faster as you get sync closer.

Then if you colour tune then idle will change again.

Get an old box fan in front of your bike to prevent overheating.

Thanks. Should I allow the bike to continue warming up before I do the synchronization or can I just go ahead and start doing it? Also, I have no idea how to adjust the valves. Is this another lengthy process ?

Let it warm up and run without the "choke". Also, place a fan in front of the bike. You'll run it for a while and it's good to keep it happy.

I started riding back in November of last year. Since I've bought this bike 90% of my first year of riding has been working on this damn bike. Today, I put the carbs back on the bike turned it on and sprayed starter fluid on the carbs and now there's air leaks. I just want to ride guys. The bike is rideable. I really don't think this is going to be a bike that is going to be with me 10 years down the line. Can I just throw it all back together and ride it even if it runs like shit? I just want to ride.

Like Paul said......"Do whatever you like".....

but when it runs like shit & leaves you stranded, you will feel like shit and be very disappointed in not getting it top running shape.......when these bikes are dialed in, they will leave a smile on your face from ear to ear......

    Dont give up.....

Hi josh. I tried to send you a PM but your mailbox is full on here. Clear it out and send me a message. I’m in San Diego and should be coming up to LA soon to pick up some parts. So I could give you a hand for a day and see what progress could be made on your bike if interested.

That should not be necessary at all. How flexable are your intake boots?
