What are y'all waiting for? We aren't getting any younger. Let's do this! Sellout by 15 January is our goal. After that, it goes to the chrome crowd! Do you really want a BMW in your parking spot? Or a Harley?

If you wait, all that happens is you get older.

I'd love to make it down next year but it would be a heck of a trip for me and with as nice as those bikes look I'm not sure my old piece of junk would fit in...

They always fit in, another owner to talk too and share some stories/knowledge. I'd love to attend this event but not sure I'll have an XJ done by then.

My other issue is vacation time. I only get 10 days and deer hunting takes half of it plus a day here and there for rides around the area, camping trips, etc. Definitely going to keep it in mind though

All right you dirty dogs, next year I'll get more photos of less washed, more ridden Yamaha motorcycles. There are always plenty of them, mine included. It is a truly enjoyable event, no matter what you're riding.

For those considering bringing a tent and sleeping bag, take as much time as you need. For those who prefer a bed, I'm working to sell this out by January 15. That's how long the Iron Horse gives a a lock on the place. I uploaded a few more pictures to the 2018 album on FB last night. http://facebook.com/vintageyamaharally Short videos at http://vintageyamaharally.com/gallery

For reservations, contact the Iron Horse:
    Monday – Friday 9am – 2pm (Phone & Email) TEL: 828-479-3864

Will you have any bike? A sports car? Pickup truck? Someone brought an old Harley this year. Somebody kept laying a rag under it. :D

82 KZ750 is my rider for the moment. Most likely trailer or truck it if we came, not sure I could do a ride that long on it.

I say bring it! No one will give you grief about riding an old Kawasaki....much. Look through the FB photos, you'll see nice vintage Kawasakis. It's more about people than anything else. We share a common interest. Many of us drag our wives along and most of them seem to enjoy the rally as well. The Iron Horse is a nice resort.

I’d like to go to this but it’s about a 3000 mile ride. Anyone know of any Japanese or Yamaha only on the west coast?

No. It's only 2,600 miles. We have a rider who comes from Simi Valley, CA (2,300 mi). He's done it three times. In 2017 he did it on an XJ1100. Last year he was on a new Harley and it broke down several times. They fixed it, but it took him a month to get home.

If you want a vintage Yamaha rally on the left coast, you should start one. Right now, we are it.

I’d like to but it’s more than a one person effort. I’m retired now and not really looking for a job. I put together events for decades as a member of Mopar Muscle Club and various street rod clubs. There is an older Japanese bike event by the name of Trevor’s just up the road from me in Canada I will try to attend next summer.

New flyer. Space is limited if you want a bed.

    Nice bike!

My first motorcycle was a '78 Kawi 400. Very similar but in green.
