I've just been informed that PB has come back up with the free pics, so I'm hoping all the ruined threads can now be viewed as they were meant to be.
PB is under new management, probably because the old one was inept and incompetent.
They've pissed a lot of customer goodwill down the pan, though.

    The new pricing structure:

To the best of my knowledge, the old free uploads will still be available, the new prices just apply to new accounts or useage

    Took long enough.

Looks like all of Fitz's DYI posts have their pics again.

    Just an update on this.
It appears that Photobucket has decided to blur all linked photos just a little. It's not too bad if all you need to see is a general idea of were things are, but if you need a crisp photo it's darned-near useless.

My suggestion is to bear with it for now and hope public pressure results in a change, as is did when the blocked free third-party hosting altogether.
Moving forward it may be worth it to host all of you new photos through a different service.

I took a look at a few posts. They look ok to me... or maybe I'm just looking at the wrong ones. Can you point us at a post with blurred images... just curious.

I got reports from a few members, and though it was a browser problem. Then I looked at one of the older writeups and saw the blurred images.

    I saw the same in:
Seca 550 Instrument Cluster Teardown with Pics
Note that this is only happening to images hosted by Photobucket. All other hosting sites, and all images that were uploaded here, are fine.

As an example, the rebuilt 550 instrument cluster thread the Hogfiddles did for Fitz when the original Photobucket debacle occured.
bigfitz's Seca 550 Instrument Cluster Teardown

It's also occuring in my thread, but only to those images that were hosted on Photobucket.

The very last post I did (just now) has a photo hosted elsewhere, and it's clear.

Weird. The image you posted above of the tach internals look great to me. The images in the links you point out seem to be ok too, with your trailer image looking equally good...

Hmmm... I'm on a Mac, though I'm sure that has nothing to do with it. Wonder if it has something to do with individual service providers. Verizon is here in NY like a tick! Between the cell phones, land line, TV and Internet, it's like another car payment.

That could be it, or PB is targeting ip addresses on a rotating basis (like limiting the number of clear views you get over a given time period). I'm also on a Mac.

I am getting the blurred out photos also, hopefully it is something that will go away. It would also be nice if they could move their logo off center, which sometimes obscures the point of interest on most photos.

to see a clear picture with no watermark the person who posted the picture has to give photobucket some money, gee imagine that.
the workaround, right click the blurry pic, "copy image location", paste that in a new tab, change the first "i" in the url to "w".. ka-ping ka-pow
    best to just ditch photobucket

Thanks Polock. Annoying, but easy fix.
