CNYCC#16 - June 10,2023

Looking like we’re gonna be pretty much just balancing and colortuning this time..... no major jobs are on order, so right now I expect I’ll have time to show how to tear down a carb rack for cleaning.

 

I’ll be doing the usual… oil change, etc… I’ve developed a leak that is finding it’s way down and dripping from the rear (wheel) drain plug. Not sure if it’s final drive oil or engine oil… before the CC I’ll be giving her a good scrub with soap and water to hopefully find the source…

Heard about this get together on a facebook group from another XS750 guy, I'm near Cortland, had an '83 XJ900 at one time, might be able to pop in on a triple to say hi?

I can't speak for anybody else, but I am pretty sure that you would be more than welcome.

In fact, there is a decent chance that you might be able to see the 900 you owned at one time.

 

I sold it when I was in Berlin CT to someone just over the border in NY up near the CT NW corner.
My XS's remind me of the 900 a lot.
The owner would know it by the tank that was weirdly bulbous and ill-fitting from the guy I bought it from pushing out dents with compressed air. Oh, and the damaged fins!

Rumors are true... I WILL be in attendance at CNYCC#16. I will be without a bike, however I will be bringing a number of XJ-related parts and accessories for sale/giveaway. I will also of course bring my tools, and my knowledge to aid in supporting all current (and new) XJers.

I will be providing carbtune/colortune services, shim adjustments, and any other repair needs that members who attend may need - all in the name of keeping these awesome bikes on the road.

I plan to arrive Friday evening/night, and will be camping out in Dave's yard. I look forward to meeting anyone in attendance, and reconnecting with old XJ friends. I've also invited a new XJer from the greater Philadelphia area to ride up on his '82 XJ650 Maxim.

I'm excited to reconnect with everyone, share my knowledge, and enjoy the general XJ chat that naturally happens at these events!

 

Remember that shim adjustments should be done with the engine being overnight cold.

Got the Ol’girl inspected today! Good to go for CNYCC #16! Looking forward to heading up a week from tomorrow.

Put the tent frame together today, picked up the food supplies, and ordered the blue Library of Congress.

 

Trailer comes out of hibernation today...
