So I'm curious if this is a good deal, and what could possible be wrong with it. I've really enjoyed these bikes and wouldn't mind getting into another one if the price is right. What do you think???

    $700

definately worth a look. Maybe something as simple as a carb cleaning needed after sitting with fuel in the carb for a year.
    I'd be tempted.

"Can't get it to rev past 7-Grand", ... huh?

Clogged Emulsion Tubes or Diaphragm Pistons Sticking!

A rare Yam-Turbo to love and make go fast again would make my heart flutter!
I just needs more Main Jet Flow to make higher rpm's.
I'd be all over that deal if I was in any position to expand my ownership past two bikes.

    Buy the bike.
    Clean the Carbs
    Go fast and furious!

Change out the spark plugs for fresh ones. Make sure the fuel pump works and the fuel regulator works. Also clean out the check valve I paid $400 for mine but sunk lots into it getting the turbo rebuilt. The engine bottom end is the strongest of all the xj bikes and so far it's been a great daily driver. The key to keeping this bike in top form is to ride it often.

I just bought a running 1982 Maxim 750 for $800 ( california price ) is that a good price as well?

Runs fine for me, just feels like it needs a good cleaning. Oh, and the title on it is set as a Lien from a bank that went out of business, I dont know how much of a hastle that will be to get her registered.

I have the actual title yes, and it says its a bank lien on it. The bank is out of business according to the PO who was not the actual owner of the bike, just some guy who bought it with the lien on it as well.
