Mains AND pilots??????

    My question is simple: Why are there two sets of jets in the carbs? Are the pilots handling the idle while the mains take over at a certain RPM? Is it the reverse? Understanding this might help me troubleshoot a very minor tuning problem.

    Ya the pilot screws are like the idle to 1/4 throttle adjustment the mains are the rest,
