    Hi folks,

Recently my '82 SECA 750 was run over in a parking lot. I've finally reached a reasonable compromise with my insurance company and am proceeding with repairs. Among the damage was decent scraping to both mufflers (stock exhaust).

The list prices on the stock mufflers are quite insane, so I don't think I will replace them with new ones. The main options I'm considering at this point are aftermarket mufflers and aftermarket exhaust systems.

It looks to me like only MAC and Jardine currently make exhaust parts for my bike. Any recommendations between those?

At this point I'm leaning towards the Jardine 4-1 and getting my bike retuned for it.

    Thanks for you help,
    Paul

i recently added muffler tips from jcwhitney.com due to my mufflers having holes in them.. i purchased 19" slash cut exhaust pipes for 49 dollars a piece. they have steel baffles inside them. they also make my bike sound great. i know you will lose power in the low end with the 4 into 1 exhaust seeing how i put the 4 into 2 back on and got more power all round.

"...i put the 4 into 2 back on..."

What did you have on before?

    Thanks,
    Paul

I have 4-2 on mine, and I think they are made by Jardine, although I could be mistaken. I love the growl it gets at 5000 rpm. It makes people turn around and see what is coming. Not too obnoxious either when riding.

What did you do with the 4-1, and what brand was it? If it's not a MAC, I'd probably be interested in buying it from you.

    I lean more towards Jardine.

Got the slip on silencers, they look like "bullets"
No major issues @ all, just like stockers.

On a side note I have a good condition LEFT side stock muffler. Was gonna ebay it....

Problem is, I've been calling around for the last week or so, and it seems like the Jardine stuff is all out of production and unavailable.

I'm a big fan of my Harley mufflers. They look sort of like stock and have a great exhaust note to them. I can't say how they compare to factory mufflers since my bike never really had them, but I'm happy now. Plus, I didn't have to adjust the justs or anything.

Harley mufflers on the stock header sound about right. Mine are stock Harley mufflers and they are only a little bit louder than stock, just a deeper rumble. Not at all annoying at high speeds and good for early morning rides without waking the neighbors.
