I own an 83 xj550 SECA and when I purchased it the turn signals were not attach. I heve reinstalled them, But now they either flash like emergency flashers or if I reverse the wiring they stay on constantly. Any suggestions on what could be causing this problem. I have search all of the forums but have not found this problem posted yet.

    Thanks

    Keith

Get a service manual and check the wiring schematic, so you know you're attaching the lights to the right wires first thing :)

Then we can tell if you're flasher unit may be bad.

Well i'd say that if your signals aren't flashing when they should, that's a good test. Is it the original flasher unit, with the auto-cancel?

I was able to trouble shot the problem. It wasn't the relay. It was the light bulbs.I had to rig rear turn signals on the front of the bike. WHich inturn made all of the lights the same watt and the turn signals work. Thanks for your help..
