Idk where to get these pod filters as i believe they're called, but they look sweet and you dont have to put on anymore boots, and you can remove the airbox completely, or turn it into a storage space, lol. but anyways heres a link to a youtube vid of a 700 maxim with these on, as to finding out where to buy them, idk, maybe that one guy who sells all that stuff may have some, i forget his name

you should search for the POD term in the XJ forums here, and you may just change your mind. At least think a whole lot more about the extensive process

chacal sells them. I've got a set from him. Haven't gotten the carbs just right yet though. You'll be looking at jetting and re-jetting over and over again if you go with pods.

yep seeing how im only 17, and dont have much time to do this, i just want to leave my bike the way it is, but the peopel who have to constantly remove their carborators to clean them or something may want them, idk merely a suggestion

It's a good idea in theory... but most people don't want to put that much time into their carbs. i personally like the look and sound from mine, so i'm willing to constantly mess with my carbs until it's right.

Honestly the carbs aren't all that hard to get off to be worth the trouble of getting pods. But if you like them more power to ya' (no pun intended).

    can you say

"out of the frying pan and into the fire"

it a trade off. ease of carb work and esthetics with a jetting hassle
or set them up right the first time and not have to fuss with jets

i'd love to go for pods but i'm not going to brave having to rejet.

stop making 60 posts in 3 days and start wrenching on the bike. also, try reading the forums a bit before making new topics about silly things like pods.

there are dozens, or even more who have had "troubles" with installing pods.
some cant get their bikes to idle well, or even idle at all
others run so lean that they pull their hair out,
or have troubles with the mid band of power

long story short, most but not all, have had headaches with pods
its expensive to start buying jets and gaskets.
as you will be removing and reinstalling several times until your jetting is correct.

on a side note* the forum is more like a bike chat room, not "ask jeeves" format.
there is nothing wrong with questions and comments, but some of the simple items<and even more difficult> can be found using the search function.
become aquainted with it if you plan to have this bike for any measurable period of time.

P.S. pods, oil, tires, and octane are touchy subjects. Comment on them and expect a colorful conversation

    Hey, shooter ...

There's several dozen Threads about Air Pods and the myriad of problems one faces when the urge to install Pods rather than fight with the Air Boots occurs.

I don't think you should be recommending making alterations and mods without doing a good deal of research and browsing through our Archives, first.

I want you to have a lot of fun and a good time, in here, with us.
Instead of suggesting that something would be a good idea ...
First, find-out if it is a good idea.

And, ... Yes! Pods DO make it easier to take-off the Carbs.
That's the Up side ... so to speak.

The down-side of Pods is how often you'll be taking-off the Carbs until you get them re-jetted and adjusted to make the bike run right.
It can become a nightmare ...
