    Moving thread to General Lounge.

Welcome Daveycrocket. If you got an XJ then you have found your home. If you have other bike then we also welcome you and I’m sure we can help out . Post some pictures and a serial number and we’ll help you sort it out :D.

Welcome to our clubhouse Davey, you can't go wrong here even if you don't have an XJ. Any chance you have the VIN handy? Pictures, even of the bikes carcass, would be helpful.

Odds are good that if it was stored with the fuel in the lines and carb bowls all winter, you've got some serious cleaning to do. I had to tackle a 91 Seca II a few years back and was amazed at how much damage a little neglect caused on that bike. Nice little zingers but they do not hold true to their heritage if you ask me. Don't resemble the old Seca in any way, physically or in character. Good bike none the less. Hope you got it cheap. The Haynes on that bike was pretty good, you should get plenty of good info out of it. Best of luck to you!
