i pulled out an old bicycle and weed eater, thought hmmmmm, i bet those would look good as one piece of metal, so, i comenced tearing the motor out of the weed eater, got bracket welded up to the frame, need to mount the engine and give her a coat of flat black paint, will post some pics when im done.

I did that! Used sway bar rubber bushings as the roller. It did about 25 MPH with NO take off power. You pedal, then engage.

mines gunna be direct gear drive, pedal til the motor fires, then throttle up, when you stop you need to kill the motor. does this sound like a good idea, i could still modify.

he has a pivot and lever to raise the motor off the tire.
Don't know how fast it goes, but people at the bike night say he is there often.

The drive is a knurled shaft - like a socket wrench handle but a little larger diameter.

i redesigned, put a chunk of gas line tight over the output shaft, rest it on the tire, need to design a way to take the motor to and from the tire yet, but the project is together, im just scared with no way to disengage the engine other than killing it will put me to the ground or in somewhere i dont want to be.

got everything together, havent rode it yet, need to take it back off and grind a few high spots down and put a stop on it to keep it from falling too far into the tire, tomorrow i will finish it off.

sounds like the drive on a Goped Bigfoot, the motor pivots in such a way that the motor pulls itself down into the tire, enough to dent into the tire, unless it gets wet
clutch control is a cable that pivots the motor up off the tire

i just hope the range is enough to get me to the gas station and back on a tank of gas, in case i get the craving for a snickers bar. the closest gas station is like 12 mile round trip.

we used to play with these things when I was a kid, a trillion years ago, you had to have a special thick rubber tyre, or you would be on the canvas before you got up the shops.

lol you know it, change the gearing tho cuz that will have more torque with fewer rpm's, next thing u know you'll have an engine from your cx500 or your 750 mx, lol that would haul tho

well, went for a ride on it today, pedaled up to speed, got the engine started, and then snap, i broke the engine housing. the output shaft bound too deep into the tire which put too much stress on the casing. so its back to the junk pile for that motor, looking at garage sales and junk piles for another one.
