LOL ok ok I know this is probably OUTRAGEOUS (LOL) has anyone ever done, or even thought of running a 4-2 exhaust out one side similar to the vtwins? I don't even know if this is remotely possible?? but thought DAMN it would be cool to do LOL

I think it'd look awesome for a cruiser-style look. Shouldn't be that much extra weight to worry about, especially if you're doing drag pipes rather than big heavy mufflers. Good luck!!

Actually, yes. There is a guy in Tucson who built an XJ chopper with an exhaust (custom) like you described.

Maybe 2 years ago, in American Iron magazine (yikes!) I saw an ad for a now defuct chopper builder that offered a model powered by a transverse inline four. The exhaust was basically fou header pipes, two to each side, staggered. Looked just like staggered duals. Very cool and I'd say very loud. Can't imagine the thing ran well.

I rememeber back in the mid 70's when a lot of the poorer bike owners were tricking out the Honda CB-750 SOC into choppers. Both pipes were on the same side - over & under. Man it was great watching those bikes pass a Harley like it was standing still. I'm trying to talk a friend out of his. It's been sitting in storage for over 15 yrs, and was only ridden for 5 years after it was custom made by Arlen Ness. He starts it religiously every month. He won't admit it, but I think he had a close call and doesn't want to ride anymore. He doesn't ride even today.

wow like the feed back, and the fact it has been done, would love to see pictures, since my accident I have had some time to draw some ideas (LOL like I can draw) but it looks possible, by either converting the existing center (4-2) pipe, or by welding my own two into ones with running them side by side under the bike and then out in a way to have them over and under as they run down the side. The nice thing is by creating my own, I could adjust the diameter of the pipe so that it could be more universal for more commonly sold mufflers. Well if anyone runs across pictures or links for idea's i would love to see them
