Both are in pretty good condition, bars have no rust or bends, front fairing has no gouges or chips and the screen could easily be polished to completely clear condition.

I am looking to trade for fair value any of the following in this order...
    1. right side fender for seca 550
    2. carb connecters (boots between carb and engine)
    3. starter motor brush replacement set

If you have any of these items and would like to trade for one or both of my items, that'd be swell. I'm in SE PA, 18074, for reference.

PS The fairing is from a red bike, but I don't care about the right side cover color. They are both off a 1982. Thanks.

I have an old set of carb to engine boots. There are crack on the outside but nothing all the way through. Liquid electrical tape or some sort of gasket seal would make them perfectly acceptable. Pay me for the shipping and they are yours.

    artgo,

Yeah, I'll try to get to it tonight, after I take care of the title and license plate shuffle. The bike is 4 days new-to-me, but I won't use the fairing and the PO did a good job upgrading to a lower cafe racer type bars.

I'd also trade for carb syncing tools, as that hurdle of manhood is looming before me.

RangerG, what a compassionate offer. Do you do paypal?
I am due for my first carb clean as bike barely/doesn't start and the boots might not make it considering some of the cracking I'm seeing.

But good suggestion about the gasket seal, that might do me too.

I'm poor in the world of parts, but may be interested in the bars. I've got an 82 650 maxim and have been thinking about new (i.e. different) bars. Could I get a pic? Price?

    Yes, pics before EOD tomorrow.
I lost the night getting the starter motor off, cleaned, and back on.
    Thanks for asking.

    Sorry its late,

Why do major home appliances always die in groups??

The picture upload requirements for this forum are kind of harsh - I had to shave the picture a lot to get it through.

The stuff on the chrome bars is just smudges. The chrome is in really good shape - growing evidence for me that though my PO was an apartment dweller, the long time owner must have garage kept it.

Dude; look at the DATE on the posting you just responded to.

It's over three years old; do you really think he's even still got the bike let alone the fairing?
