    Hey All
I have been pokin around for awhile postin for the first time. I have an 82 Seca that i have been building for awile as well as riding it hard the whole time. My clutch is starting slip when getting on it around 7g and 3rd to 4th gear, it also has a hard time getting the front end up right now. Sorry if i offend anybuddy but if a bike can't be ridden hard then it should probably not be ridden. so My question is what is the recomended clutch replacement?

    My second question is:
High speed wobles and steering dampener vs. fork stabilizer?
    HELP donlike the Shakes.

    Will include photos Soon

    Thanks Mick

    Hey Mick

The '82 XJ650R is a great bike...I'm a big fan. How long have you owned the bike? How many miles are on her? I'm willing to bet your wobbles are the result of worn steering head bearings, worn front springs and fork oil and inflation issues with your front tire, either one of the above or a combination. These bikes are rock solid at speed...confirm the above are in good shape before wasting money on a steering damper.

As for your clutch issues, you certainly haven't offended me, but these 500lbs bikes aren't really good candidates for stunts like wheelies. Call me a puss, but I never did a wheelie or burnout with my original Seca and got 115,000 miles out of her...and the original clutch. I would replace the clutch with stock factory bits or upgrade to aftermarket if you plan on continuing to beat on her. Not sure what is available in the aftermarket, but it shouldn't be too difficult for you to find what you want online.

Post some pics; I'd like to see what you are riding.

    Regards,
    Furyus

I installed a set of EBC clutch plates and heavy duty springs in my turbo. It would spin the clutch quite easily once the turbo kicked in. Now it just breaks the rear tire loose. Highly recommended.

    wobbles.
steering head bearings and swingarm bearings i would check first.

types of tyres can do that too...

I had the Swingarm Checked but a new set of bearings should not be a big deal
tires also fluctuate alot more in the south than in the West.
tire pressure was off about 12 psi again.
    thanks for the thoughts.

Sometimes ya gotta watch those servo guages too they can be incorrect [if you use em] .

if the swing arm bearings were checked ,ok but whoever did the checking i hope realised there is a bearing preload adjustment , the only thing i was trying to get at was "if" loose then that could do a wobble.

not like the old days tho , z1b 130mph and they start was a worry , in heritently built in!

they were the true [TANK SLAPPERS]
