I have to admit that I've done that from time to time.

Mad Max (an Australian movie which I believe was re-recorded in the American accent in its first release in the States) is apparently a bit of a benchmark for the car chase/crash genre - and an influence on Quentin Tarantino if what I read is to be believed.

DVD is great - pause - slow mo - makes it all the more interesting because there's no CGI. Just brave souls who lived on the edge for the camera.

    Cheers.

When the Goose hops on his MFP Bike and goes smokin down that highway stop the DVD and look at the tach and speedo. Its the real deal he was cookin down the road. I saw an interveiw that they said that they did not realize the bike was going that fast unitil they were editing the film. Check it out.

Search Road warrior. There is a group who dress up and drive around. Cool costumes. Look for two dudes dressed up in a miata! I nearly pissed myself laughing. True survivor bikes and cars.

so, at 9:30 of the clip right after the Night Rider crests the hill, whats the flames coming from the rear valance of the car?

its not excess gas from the exhaust, its coming from right below the boot lid...

Just checked out Mad Max Movies . com and the flame out the back of Night Riders car was a solid fuel rocket. It says if you look close there are no passengers in the car when that stunt was done.

If you like Mad Max for the bikes, you should try and track an earlier Oz movie called STONE. It was made in 1974 and is about a biker gang that only rides Kawasaki Z1's. It's a cult classic with Oz bikers.

There's a funeral procession scene in the movie where the coffin is carried on a racing side-car outfit and it is followed by hundreds of Z1's down the highway. Awesome. 8O
Also has an amazing stunt where a bike (and rider) goes off a cliff into the ocean.

but that wasnt standard on that particular car because it was a stolen MFP pursuit special...

while i agree it COULD have been added by the Night Rider, i dont think its too likely...

just my opinion. its STILL a super movie. if you like it on your computer or TV you should have seen it on the Big Screen (if you never have)...

If you read my comment it was just a STUNT just for effects. He didn't add it, the stunt people did to make it look like he was really moving when the car crashed. Get the MAD MAX cd and check out the extras and you will see a bunch of things the movie people did on such a low budget and got such a big return on this low buck movie. Also you can go to www. madmaxmovies.com and check out all the other stuff on the stunts.

Heck I loved those movies when I first seen them. Thanks for the reminder I will now have to go on Amazon and see if I can get the set.

Just a pitty that Hollywood got their hands on it. The third movie was no where as good as the first two as far as I am concerned

    I agree 10,000%
Too bad also that some idiot had to DUB the American English over the Aussie English for the original US release. (as they have done with several foreign English language movies and TV shows.

Get the super all inclusive Mad Max release and there is a setting to see facts about the movie during play at the bottom of the screen.

I have read somewhere from the makers of the film. They attached a rocket to the rear of Night Rider's car: 1972 HQ Holden Monaro, which fired out the side to make the car spin. This was done with dummies in the car as it was a dangerous stunt. You can also see that they took the nice wheels off, and used stock steel wheels for blowing up the car.
