Hope someone can help. I've got the forks off, drained, and the main spring out. Book says to remove allen bolt on bottom of fork and remove slider.

Bolt is quite hard to turn and doesn't seem to be backing out at all. Slider remains in lower tube.

    Any help?

Many times you need a fork damper rod holding tool in order to remove that bottom bolt (the bolt is actually screwed into the bottom of the damper). Usually the bolt will turn, but will just "spin" and not loosen, because the damper rod is spinning along with it. That' s the purpose of the damper rod retaining tool, to hold the damper rod so that screw can be removed. I do carry the damper rod retaining tool in stock.

That bolt is held in with loctite, by the way...........

I thought maybe there would be something like that going on. Any way to make the tool? I'm hoping to get this done this weekend as this is my main mode of transportation right now.

    Hey Chacal,

I tried to locate the tool locally and no one has it in stock. Checked your list and your price is WAY better than the local guys.

Question is, how do I go about ordering from you?

    Thanks for the help.

I have heard, but do not have first hand experience, that you can turn a spark plug socket (the kind that has the hex on it at the bottom of the socket) around on a long extension and do it that way. I think I saw it in a post on here, you'd have to search.
