Re: Does ANYONE have a working 1982 xj650j harness..got screwed,

You might try Action Cycles in Colorado Springs. They have a lot of salvage parts for XJ's and other 80's bikes.

BTW, what's so bad about your old one? Are you sure it's not repairable?

schooter, although tyler may have missed the many posts indicating that another member had one, we should try to remember that he's 15 and probably has the attention span of a kitten with ADD. Give him a break.

No offense tyler, just kidding around. lol.

    Tyler,
Was wondering if you had thought of relisting that harness back on e-bay or here and continue your search.

Re: Does ANYONE have a working 1982 xj650j harness..got screwed,

In that case I suggest simply posting in the Buy, Sell, Swap section of this site. Much easier than setting up a new ebay and paypal account. Not to mention the possible age restrictions of doing so.

Re: Does ANYONE have a working 1982 xj650j harness..got screwed,

Are you good with a soldering iron? Just rewire the bike without the harness. The harness is bulky and a constant source of problems as the bike ages. You can clean the wiring right up and lose a ton of those bulky hard plastic connectors. This isn't the space shuttle and the wiring is pretty straight forward.

    Just a suggestion.

Ah, yes... Stockers. When I checked valve clearances on my 750, I got my shims there. They were also my source for the spare set of carbs I used to practice on.

I avoided Stockers after my first visit in '88. They wanted way to much for what they had. North County Motorcycle Salvage (Escondido 619-746-7467) is where I went and got good prices and service. The fellow behind the counter was named Berry. Don't know if he is still there but they were family run back then.
