What is the most common point of failure with the front break not actuating the break light. I have had this issue since I have purchased the bike this summer.

Also, my horn just stopped working. Need to get that going again ASAP. What is the weak link in the horn chain.

    Thanks,
    Chris KQ6UP

Hi Chris welcome to a fellow ham.

Most likely the brake switch which is part of the brake lever assembly. Easy to test as it should unplug in the headlight and you can test the switch. Could even be that connection is corroded.

Horn is probably the button. They corrode easy but you can disassemble and clean. Same deal should plug in the headlight.

i'm still a newbie so please anybody correct me if i am wrong. but when i got my bike the brake light and horn also did not work. we took off the seat and saw that the fuse box was in really bad shape and the PO did the wriring all messed up. we switched out the fusebox and fixed the wiring problem. in your situation maybe it's just that the fuesbox might need to be replaced or make sure it's making the connection. it may be an original part like mine was. Hope this was helpful.

...and that folks...was my first attempt at answering a question! that in itself is a good enough reason to crack open a six-pack tonight to celebrate.

Excellent commentary uzivelli. "Tip of the Hat"
I too am a newbie, but more so than you. So far I've been more of a hindrance than a help on here but one day I hope to post something helpful or at least witty.
I'll celebrate with you later tonight. I'll be getting in my turp. (Apparently Australian for booze.)

I looked at the fuse box (and messed it up in the process). There was no fuse for the horn. Now, I have to replace the fuse holder too.

:? you didn't mess it up, it was already old and near death.
 You've just put it out of your misery!

:!: Chacal also has new blade fuse holders.
