    Hi folks,

I recently picked up an 83 750 Maxim, and working on modifying it. Just wanted to get some feedback from the folks here about my plans...

    Front/Rear Fenders
Planning on swapping out the front with one from a virago or something. The rear I'm not very sure about how to approach the project. any info on what fits, and what/how much work is needed to replace the fender on the stock frame.

    turn signals
anyone know of some better looking ones that fit?

    seat
what have people done to the seat? perhaps this coincides with the rear fender mod....I was just thinking of reupholstering it, and tapering down the passenger area to make it appear smaller maybe...info on other model seats and/or other ways to make the seat look better are appreciated

    engine
what do you guys use to polish up some of the covers/caps on the engine?

    Other stuff
I've got one mirror that is rounded out, and I am unable to get it loose. any thoughts on how to break it free? I've tried using some PB Blaster and that don't work.

If I can't replace the rear fender, is it at all possible to sandblast the chrome and paint it?

    Wheels: can they be polished/painted?

Thanks in advance for any help, insight, and directions, I'm looking forward to getting it on the road :)

Bit crook today so I've only got the brain power to comment on one of your questions.

Rounded Mirror. Presumably the right hand side. You do realise it's a left hand thread on that side don't you?

thanks for the tip, I didn't know it, but in my defense it was rounded off before I bought it :) so I'm not the only one...

I sandblasted my wheel, painted it, and polished it. came out pretty good.
I'll be doing the rear wheel this winter.

I used the turn signals off of an '86 XT125 (it is a neat little four stroke enduro). They're square but have rubber stalks and can take the punishment of little woopses. Love the rim Rich, you must have a ton of free time on your hands. I was lazy and just bead blasted and painted mine. I'm not much of a polishing freak.

any thoughts on a fender like this?

any ideas on how difficult it would be to modify a fender like this to fit the back end?

thanks for the feedback...I'm currently also trying to modify the stock front signal mounts to hold my aftermarket ones - I'm close, but there just yet :)

I think I'm gonna ride a little bit before I tackle anything else!
