Kinda doubt there are many people online right now but I rode my bike to a friend's house and the bike died en route.

It's an electrical problem. The bike obviously started fine at my house but something came loose?

I changed out the fuses but as soon as I turned the ignition on the main fuse blows right away.

I have like no tools with me at the moment.

Anybody have any ideas? Hoping not to have to pay for a trailer to come pick her up.

Had the same problem once. Turned out the self cancelling unit had shorted out somehow. It's been disconnected since...

I had a similar problem after replacing the brushes in my altenator. Turns out I had let one of the wires short against the inside of the cap.

With no tools I think you're dead in the water.

Hey Charlie- - the tape didn't come off that switch we put on there, did it?

You do have a "highly modified" wire harness, it could be any number of re-wire and bypasses hidden under black tape that finally shifted, and shorted out. I would start where the fuse box was.

the headlight wires were the first ones i checked... even yanked the switch off and tried to reconnect the wires as they were to no avail

probably just gonna trailer the bike to the shop i guess because the wires under the seat are like a birds nest
