Finally looks like I'm getting some where on my bike project.
This was the first time I've welded with a mig. I'll have all the bady work and paint done tomorrow. PPG metalflake $250 a pint. Discount Dupli-clour metallic forest green $3 a can. It's nice to have your mind made up for you.
I still have ti figure out how to resize my pix.

    Pix in my gallery.

Are both paints the same type? If not, you may have chemical reactions like I did the first time I tried painting my tank.

    Good luck,

We use Omni brand paint here. Less that 1/2 price of regular PPG paints. You should check with chacal to see if he got the paints mixed up yet. I know he was working on it.

The tank is painted. Came out pretty good for a rattle can job. Pix in my gallery.

Quite right Sgary. Your tank turned out beautiful. You're going to have a fine looking ride.

I found out that the dude who delivers drugs to the facility where I work part time (he's a courier for the pharmacy) used to work for Boeing painting 747's. He has a little side business doing small paint trim jobs for cars etc. I'm thinking less than $100 for painting the tank and both side covers.

The frame I am definitely going to have powder coated charcoal gray. The tank and covers will be a nice deep blue. "Purtier" than green to me! I have attached a photo that I got off the internet. This scooter looks good and is a tribute to its owner (whover that might be).

I had to cut out a large part of the bottom so it would fit on the frame the way I wanted. I bent up a piece of metal and welded it in. This is my first attempt at welding so don't be afraid and chop it up. lol.

I have never welded but it sure looks good to me. Paint job looks great.

Since you had to cut the tanks down a good bit what is your fuel capacity now?

From what I was told Omni is made/sold by PPG too. The quality is good and the price is even better.

Yea that might be smart. Looks like it is fairly small but again it does look good!
