I think Ive decided on a name for my bike!!!!!

Ok...Ill start by saying this.... I DONT LIKE SPIDERS!!!

I took my controls off...and they were full of spiders.....

This evening I was taking my gauge cluster apart to replace bulbs and clean...it was full of SPIDERS!!!

So Im deciding on which gauges I should buy, seems the tach didnt take kindly to being dropped...so now I have a little bitty round thing with no needle in the center of it and what looks like a clockwork spring kinda sticking out from behind the faceplate.

For the moment my bike is ARACHNAE.

Did I mention.... I DONT LIKE SPIDERS!!!

 

my wife is scared sh!tless of spiders. i think they are cool, however i refuse to co-exist with them.

Wow,a conversation about spiders (On the web,no less!). Who'd have thunk it?! I have no fondness for those creepy little critters either!

 

I got a big-old spider living-large in the back of my garage. He set-up shop in a window that's back there; painted shut.
The web he's got across the front of that window, looks like part coal chute and part ghost-locomotive cow-catcher.
He punches-in around twelve-thirty, one o'clock; when the sun comes in through that window and the flies 'n bees that come-in the open garage door take to the light, back there, thinking it's a way out.
There's times when I'll be down working on something when a moth will come-in and start bothering me in a big way. I hate moths. But, I know a critter that loves them.
When a moth comes-in and starts bugging me; I hit it with a little Windex Anti-aircraft spray to down it. Then, I take the moth and load it into an empty roll from paper towels and take a little stroll to the back of the shop where a puff of air into the cardboard tube launches Mr. Moth to his untimely end!
I look at it as recycling.
Environmentally safe way to get rid of annoying moths.

 

If they are content to keep their distance....cool...scrambling all over me...not so cool. SHUDDER

 

How would you like to get to Panama, get in the hotel room and see this?!?!?

 

I hate spiders too. That would gross me out. I'd be getting the manager to get the industrial size bug spray pronto.

Deadulus ARACHNAE is a cool name for your bike. A while back I saw a pic of a spider and web sewn into a seat on this site. There are some cool things you can do with the spider theme

 

I guess thats what she'll be... ARACHNAE.

the big one's a little freaky - can you imagine stepping on that thing? The thousands - well, hundreds of little ones really creeps me out. I'm terrified of spiders - but will get on hand and knee to inspect one. I got bit by a brown recluse and had some serious complications, so I want to know what's livin in my neighborhood.

I hate to be pedantic, and I know we're transliterating from Greek, but the most common spelling is "Arachne". As a matter of interest, I believe there was once a make of bike called the "Minerva". Bad news if you were to meet one!

 

Yeah I saw an old English Dictionary once that spelled it the way I did and it always stuck with me. It just 'seems' right to spell it like that. And it is not common....so all the better! Hehe

By the way my nick was supposed to be Daedalus. I worked for a local ISP and I asked one of the sys admins to make it my username. Well I didnt spell it for him...and Deadulus is how it came out.
