Looking to buy 900 top end

    I am looking to purchase a good set of cylinders and pistons for an xj900. I intend on swapping them onto my 650 turbo bottom end so they must be in good usable shape. Rings arent an issue as I intend on replacing them anyways. I will pay cash or we can work out a trade on something I have. I have tons of xj650j and lj parts including a like new instrument cluster and 6000 mile '82 engine. Please pm me if you have what I am looking for. Thanks

    Havent had any luck locating a 900 jugs or pistons. If anyone has any they are thinking about selling, pm me and we can work something out. Thanks

    Have you checked ebay ? Craigslist. ?

    Are you planning on doing some work on the bottom end of that 650 for it to be able to handle that 250cc more and boost? Maybe you can find a good or free engine and use it for parts i know youve been looking for a while anyways for those jugs.

    The engine I am building is one from a 650 turbo. It has a stronger crankcase, crankshaft, and rods. I am using a 750 transmission which is stronger too. It should hold up but if it doesnt I will build one of the other 3 engines I have.

    I have been checking ebay every few days with no luck. A guy in arizona had a whole engine that I was going to buy the top end from it but he ended up selling it for $50 to someone local. I will continue to check ebay and craigslist but I have a feeling that my bike will have 750 cyl and pistons because my bike will be running by spring one way or another.

    Figures he sells it. I want to just get an engine In one of my xj's frames chop it out. Make something different Ive started thinking about building this Machine shortly after i got sick of looking for engines and dealing with parts.I figure ill just do little by little for now and eventually ill come by some sort of engine to put in there.

    Yeah as soon as you quit looking something pops up. I lucked out and found a 750 engine with brand new carb boots, a good set of carbs, and a swingarm with driveshaft and differential for a steal of a deal. I wasnt looking for a 750 motor but it was too good to pass up. Now if I can only find the pesky 900 top end.
