All I want for Christmas is for winter to be over and warm summer weather.

All I want for Christmas is a job; one that pays a living wage and has decent, affordable health insurance and has a management that treats employees with a bit of human dignity and not as another piece of office equipment.

As for my XJ Christmas wishes, I want my carbs rebuilt AGAIN, and my forks rebuilt. For some reason I'm more intimidated by the forks than the carbs.

IF you can get the forks apart it's a piece of cake. BOTH of my 550 Secas have the fork tube cap/spring seats rusted in place. I put penetrant in there, and tapped 'em down a couple of mm with a drift enough to clear the retaining rings but they won't come back up. Bouncing the living crap outta the front end does nothing. RIDING it that way for half the summer didn't work either. Winter project (soon, actually:) Drill the center of the caps and tap them and use a bolt to extract them. Then use a nice big screw with a gasket under its head as a "plug" within the plug and not have to disassemble to change fork oil any more. Forks themselves aren't difficult at all, more just a PIA.

a buddy of mine built a bike with a 4.3l v6 out of an old blazer, that was one weird looking bike, but he got all the ckicks.
