    Polock,

Just got done reading Motorcyclist(Nov.OR.Dec Issue) and they ran a test on a HID model simmilar to the one posted.

Their opinions stunk, the housing(if incorrectly focused) can lead to bad light patterns. The Light was BLINDING to oncomming traffic, yet ineffective to the rider.

The light upgrade is one of my top of the list, but will spending 75 bucks be a waste???

    Just FYI.

Ass.Fault, if you want to stay with the older technology bulbs add some headlight relays
simple test to see what it will do
find the + wire powering the headlight as close to the light as you can get(in the headlight bucket)
take a temporary #14 fused wire cut off a few strands so you can fit it in the original + headlight connector
turn on the key or start the bike, whatever makes the light come on
now touch the other end of the temp wire to the battery +
the difference you see is the loss in the wiring harness
after you do relays any wattage bulb can be used without cooking the original harness

Thanks for the website Traveller! That gave me some ideas for my bikes as well as my cars. Looks like I need go and get a bag of relays and a few distibution blocks to get started.
