Well here is the new project. I just picked it up today and its really in great shape. Its been sitting 3 years with fuel in it so the carbs will have to come down to parade rest. Front brake is sticking and the fluid is the color of a old brandy. The tank and pipe damage is the result of 2 garage tip overs. Its been stored indoors so very little corrosion. Think this will be my around town cruiser and the 1100 will be the long trip machine.

Yours is MIA. Yamaha was in love with those, almost every one of their bikes in that era had a different shaped one and they all had one thing in common: They just snapped onto the bit of handlebar between the clamps. GOOD LUCK trying to find one; I'm trying to find one for a 550 Seca and have been for a while.

Put a gallon of fresh gas and let the seafoam sit in the tank overnight and tried to start it this morning. Same as yesterday, fires and then died. Pulled the carbs and removed everything but the bodies from the rails. 3 of the CV pistons were sticking and the enricher tubes in 2 of the bodies were clogged. Cleaned it all up with carb cleaner, reassembled, checked float level using the clear tube method. Mounted them up and she fired right up. First time this engine has seen heat in 3 years but it pulls real strong. Clutch and trans are real smooth and brakes only need to have the fluid changed. Think this ones a keeper. Thanks for the kind words I got lucky with this one
