Riding home from work today I notice the bike is really idleing fast and the choke is all the way off. High idle with the choke on in the morning is usually around 2.5 to 3K. Now with the choke off it will go to 4K and stay there until I shut it down. I checked the throttle cable and linkage for sticking and it is closing completely. The choke (enrichment) mechanism is moving free as well. I have checked the petcock for leakage in run and res positions. Not a drop leaks and fuel flows as it should in the prime position. I did run a can of Seafoam thru her when I brought her out of hibernation this spring.

She was running great this past weekend. I put over 400 miles on her and she didn't miss a beat. It rained Monday and Tuesday so she sat for two days. I am thinking stuck float but wanted to get a second opinion before I start messing with the carbs. The float bowl screws look like hell so it will probably mean taking the carbs off to get them out so I am looking for anything else I should check before takeing that step.

Went out to check for air leaks today and the bike is idleing down where it should be again. Sprayed WD-40 all over the carb boots just in case it was a leak but nothing changed. Went for a quick ride around the block and it is running fine. I hate it when that happens. I will be a nervous wreck waiting for it to happen again.
